Round 6 For Dummies

April 29th 2019

Liam O'Grady

Wednesday

Richmond 12.13.85 defeated Melbourne 6.6.42

ANZAC day eve was a do or die game for Melbourne and let’s just say Melbourne will not be adding premiership 13 to their cabinet this season 13 to their cutlery draw. Richmond again showed that even without Alex Rance they are really good against teams with no key forwards. I bet Melbourne would fans are still happy they got rid of Hogan. Sydney stack only Sydney not named Western that is doing good in the AFL bumping Jack Viney into next year where most Melbourne fans would want to be

Thursday

Essendon 10.6.69 defeated by Collingwood 10.13.73

A day in celebrate all the men and women past and present who fight to for the country. Essendon fans decided to pay their respects by booing. I thought that was a West Coast thing but good for WA for starting a trend for once. Billy Brownless was all for booing but would cry like a baby if someone booed a Geelong player let’s say Garry Ablett. Collingwood showed why they can and cannot win the flag in a game of footy after having the game won half way through the second they decide to go home early and let Essendon Booers fans have hope of another ANZAC day epic.

Friday

Port Adelaide 12.16.88 defeated North Melbourne 11.6.72

In the 2010s decade there has only been 5 interstate v interstate Friday night games in the “Australian” Football League but yet the AFL is fine having a North Melbourne v Port Adelaide game instead of a maybe Geelong v West Coast. Not much to say about this game just that North is bad and Port are bad some time and then good sometime and then bad again. Just like most teams this season.

Saturday

Gold Coast 9.8.62 defeated by Brisbane 16.15.111

The QClash the game that no one cared about until the AFL made Brisbane their love child. Was a good game up until half time but I think people forget the Suns are not a good-looking team where Brisbane are and the Lions got to play they wanted to play

St Kilda 10.8.68 defeated by Adelaide 15.7.97

St Kilda came marching back into reality after struggling to fire against an Adelaide team who lost to North Melbourne the last time they were at Colonial/Telstra Dome/Etihad/Marvel/Docklands Stadium. Happy it is no longer Telstra because if it was anything like the AFL App it will only work once a week. Adelaide plays Fremantle next week in the clash of the teams that are impossible to rank .

Sydney defeated by Greater Western Sydney 18.12.120

I tipped Sydney I know dumb move because I knew Phil Davis was out and thinking Buddy would have a field day so you could have imagined my surprise when I found out Buddy was also a late out and I couldn’t change my tips I felt like someone who put money on Melbourne to win the flag this year completely helpless. With Buddy missing this game means he will play game 300 In Victoria. How nice of Buddy to play game 300 in the same state he will playing in next year. Stephen Coniglio will also be joining Buddy on the flight to Melbourne where it seems they are both likely to join Hawthorn which is odd I would think that Coniglio would be too young to play for Hawthorn. Anything to not go to the draft I guess

Fremantle 13.10.88 defeated Western Bulldogs 9.15.69

Last week every man and his dog knew it was Eddies 300th and so they should he one of if not the most excising players of all-time watching Eddie’s highlights would be as long as watching Endgame and for Carlton fans probably the same amount of crying. The fact that I am so far into this game review without talking about Mundy is pretty much what the media did all week. Wasn’t until Friday some intern checked Wikipedia and found out Mundy was on game 299. That is the way he has played his football. Fremantle has showed why you can’t bet on them to win or to lose this season after defeating one of the flag favourites away last week they sure made it tough defeating maybe bottom 4 team the Bulldogs this week.

Sunday

Hawthorn 13.15.93 defeated Carlton 13.10.88

Only Carlton would blow a 36-point lead. After a strong win last week looked like Carlton would make it back to back wins for the first time since 2016 but Hawthorn realised that they were in Tassie and Tassie seems to be the only place they are good at the moment or until they play Brisbane there. Carlton look like they have all the talent in the world but just don’t know what to do with it.

Geelong 15.14.104 defeated West Coast 7.4.46

Garry Ablett celebrated Geelong’s tenth anniversary since the 2009 flag by playing like it was 2009 and West Coast jumped the gun and played like it was 2010. Geelong was all over West Coast and made the Eagles look slow witch is something that is easy to do since they are not a very fast team. Geelong are top of the table with the big question is who is playing them in the Grand Final.
