Is WWE Failing to Make Main Eventers?

It’s a hard question to answer it is easy to say yes with the last both full time Wrestle Mania Main Event was Wrestlmaina 27 almost ten years ago and since then only John Cena 28,29 Randy Orton and Daniel Bryan both 30 and Roman Reigns 31 – 33 (Likely 34). Also, the Royal Rumble has been won by part timers or two timers since 2013 apart from Reigns 2015 win. Looks like Reigns is WWE only new star? There are many more.

Unfortanly for fans on the Indies AJ Styles, Finn Balor and Shinsuke Nakamura do not count as all three are above 35 years old and AJ Styles has said he might only have two years left. I am looking at the young guys the under 35s let’s look at the under 35s world champions, Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, Dean Ambrose, Kevin Owens, Jinder Mahal and Bray Wyatt and Bray won his at only 29 years of age and Seth Rollins was 28 when he won his at Mania 31 maybe it isn’t that bad of a look? Again, this is a yes and No yes most of their PPV are Main evented by the “New Era” talent but No, the big four are usually not.

That is the issue if you want to build this new gen and make them the stars kids look up to then push them to the moon and back and stop with all the part timers. Who really wants to see Kurt Angle V Triple H when you can just get on the network and watch a match when they were both younger and better. Or why have a guy hold your number one title and not show up? These are questions WWE needs to ask them self’s heading into 2018 and the Future.

One other reason is the WWE fans the WWE gives you a new guy and the turn on him because it is not who they wanted Roman, Jinder and Jordan all come to mind. The issue with WWE and their fans is that the fans want to get everything they want and the WWE think the fans will watch anything and if they could both meet in the middle it would work wonder for both.
