How a Danger Brownlow is a Bad Thing.

September 8th 2019

On Brownlow medal night if Bont, Cripps, Grundy, Fyfe, Neale or Tim Kelly name is called it would be a great thing for the player and their club an extra Brownlow medallist to their clubs’ history while some Brownlow winners are deserving Dusty in 17 and some just prove it’s a midfielder award Tom Mitchell in 2018. Unless your name is Jobe Watson once you win it, it is yours forever. In saying that A Patrick Dangerfield win dose nothing for the Geelong football club as a matter of fact will shine a massive light on their biggest issues.

Geelong fans will go on and on about how good Danger is and that he is a two time Brownlow medal winner but as fans we fail to see the negative and the negative is that this medal is more his medal than it is Geelong’s

Was watching the Geelong “Home” final against Collingwood and talking to my Geelong supporter mate and he said ‘Danger is the only one really trying’. That got me thinking despite Geelong having a team that has Garry Ablett, Joel Selwood, Mitch Duncan, Tim Kelly (for now) Tom Hawkins in it they are really a one-man team. As good as Danger is the fact they are a one-man team is the reason why the minor premiers Geelong will not win the flag in 2019. What screams one-man team more than winning a Brownlow despite not winning the coaches votes and not even getting nominated for the AFLPA MVP but the umpires sure do love him. To make sure this isn’t outdated. If Geelong lose to West Coast next Friday They would be the first minor premier since North Melbourne in 1983 to go out in straight sets.

So a second Brownlow would be great for nnkn as a player and his brand but would harm the Geelong Football Club.
