2019 Giants The Same as the 99 Blues

September 23rd 2019

People have called Carlton the GWS Blues in recent years with a large number of ex GWS playing for them. Now the Giants are starting to look like Carlton and if what I am saying is true it means Richmond will win their second flag in 3 years.

The Giants won what people are saying is the biggest Prelim upset since Carlton defeated the minor premiers Essendon in 1999. Making the Grand Final from 6th is not the only things these two clubs have in common.

Giants played two of the best finals we have seen in a long time and that would take a toll on your body. unfortunately for them they looked dead on their feet at the end of the Collingwood game after being up by 32 points five minutes into the last quarter to only win by four points. Now the Giants have to get up and play an almost fully fit Richmond. Nathan Broad and Jack Graham are very likely to miss the Grand Final but GWS could only have one change and it wouldn’t be what they want Greene for captain Phil Davis. Davis is likely to get up but Whitfield is around 80% likely to play and Coniglio 40% at best they are going into their first-ever Grand Final very very underman.

In 1999 Carlton did start off strong and got a 10-point lead midway through the second but North Melbourne went up a gear. Unless the Giants can find something they did not even know was there even this task might be too big for a Giant.
